THE PROBLEMS WE FACE FROM TERRORISM IN TODAY'S WORLD IN OUR DAILY LIVES, AT HOME, AND IN THE WORKPLACE
It's a while since I updated this section of the site. My only excuse is that I have been in warmer climes trying to help solve an outstanding problem.
Terrorism is not something that is going to go away. The tragic events worldwideand here in the UK, have in a sad way brought the realities of the world we live in, home to to the people of this country.
Up until now, what I have had to say on the subject has been met by a certain skepticism from my audiences who seemed to believe that they, and the UK as a whole, are exempt from this type of attack. I know from their reactions, and from the type of questions asked, that most people think, or at least thought until now, that I and those who warned of the dangers we face today, were just scare mongering, or worse still, trying to stir up trouble.
Far from it. I am not a racist, and have many good friends of all nationalities and religions, including Muslims. If you have read the online book about my career in the military, and my involvement in Africa, the 1st Gulf War and the Balkins conflict, qualify me to comment on the problems we face today.
My particular speciality is the gathering and analysis of intellegence information to asist in the preparation of both real time and future military operations.
Extreme Fundamental Islam is the greatest danger we have ever faced.
I am far from being a fan of George Bush or Tony Blair, but the dangers we all face today, and that includes the Muslim population, have not come about as a result of the Iraq wars. Terrorism has been around for a long, long time, we the public, were just not aware of it. The government and the security services have done a wonderful job, but it was inevitable that we would eventually become a target here in the UK.
Those of you who argue that this would never have happened if we had not been involved in Iraq, are not aware of the bigger picture. We have all been living on borrowed time, these terrorist attacks were always going to happen. Many of the people who control the terrorists world wide, live in the security of our liberal societies. The money and instructions flow from organizations here in the UK, and up till now we have been fighting a secret war against them.
What I will say is that the reasons put forward by President Bush and Prime Minister Blair, for going to war with Iraq the second time, were not those shared by the intellegence community.
There is no doubt that Saddam Hussaine is one of the most eveil dictators to have walked on the planet. He is directly responsable for the deaths of millions of Kurdish and Iranian Arabs, and had to be removed. That is not the same of saying that he was the supporter of global terrorism, and in particular of Al Qaeda and Osama bin laden.
He was not and never has been.
